About Me

Hello, my name is Alison –

In September 2021, I lost my husband to suicide; just as hard typing it as it is to say it out loud. At the age of 38 I became a widow with three young children – ages three, two and eleven months old. My entire life changed in one night and the future I envisioned with my husband and our family was gone.

Over the years I have faced a lot of challenges, including moving across state lines (North Carolina to Ohio), retiring from my career after 20 plus years with the company, daily mental challenges, single parenting – hopefully at its finest, and renovating a house; therapy would have been a lot cheaper, plus many more life events. The path was not easy over the past three years – I hit rock bottom several times and felt alone most of the time since I was missing my partner in life.

This blog will encompass stories of my life since my husband passed away in hopes to give inspiration, hope, guidance, and peace of mind in knowing you are not alone in what you are feeling and experiencing. Through raw, unfiltered emotions, and heartfelt narratives, I aim to provide solace and solidarity to those facing similar journeys of life altering events. I will provide stories on how I managed the lost, the mental challenges, and restarting my life throughout the time while raising three young children.

My hope is that this platform becomes a beacon of light, illuminating the path to healing and reminding individuals that they are never alone in their struggles after an unexpected loss. Please pass the word to friends and family, so they can get a better understanding of what you may be experiencing. Also, reach out with your story!
